Navarro And Son Auto Detailing

Date of Service: August 26, 2025

Background

My wife purchased a vehicle from Facebook Marketplace that had numerous scratches in the exterior paint. Some of these scratches were deep enough to catch a fingernail, but most were light surface scratches that should have been removable with a professional polish. Once we had the car insured and tagged, we brought it to Navarro & Sons Auto Detailing for a quote on scratch removal through polishing and an interior detail.

The Quote

We made it clear: We want the scratches removed and a full interior detail. Nothing else. Chris, the owner, quoted us $450 for the interior detail and $750 for the exterior polish. After booking the appointment, Chris referred to the service as a “wash and wax”, but I corrected him, stating it was a polish we needed. He confirmed in his book that it was indeed written down as a polish job, but he said "He likes to just keep it simple and say "wash and wax".

The Service

The next day, we returned to pick up the car. At first glance, the exterior looked shiny and clean. The deeper scratches I had originally noticed were still there, which was expected, since those require more extensive work. Believing the lighter scratches had been polished out, I assumed the job had been done properly.

However, upon opening the interior, my wife immediately noticed that the seats were still dirty. When she asked Chris to re-clean them, he did so on the spot. While this was happening, I looked more closely at the rest of the vehicle and began to see a number of issues:

The Realization

After leaving and examining the car in better light, I realized that all of the scratches were still present. They hadn’t been polished out at all—they had simply been covered with wax, which temporarily disguised them. This confirmed to me that a proper polish had not been performed, despite being quoted and charged for one.

Conclusion

This was not the service we agreed upon. We paid for a polish to remove scratches and a full interior detail. Instead, we received a waxed exterior with the scratches still intact, and an interior that was clearly not detailed thoroughly.

I left this experience feeling disappointed, frustrated, and misled. At the very least, a partial refund would be the fair outcome given the discrepancy between what was promised and what was delivered.

Requested Refund

I believe a fair value for the work actually performed (wash, wax appearance, interior detail as delivered) is approximately $400. To align the price with that value, I’m requesting a partial refund of $800. When resolved, I’ll update this page to reflect the outcome or delete it entirely.
